V : the remake

So, I see they're revamping the "V" series on television. If you remember the old series that came out in the mid 80's about aliens that show up in flying saucers and look like humans but are really reptile people that show up to eat our mice and shoot lazer guns than you allready know what I'm talking about. Oh, there was some telepathy stuff and some mutant cross genetic alien breeding involved as well.
The Syfy channel has taken the leap at the sci-fi series bandwagon by airing all the old episodes for the last 2 days. Bringing back old feelings of a retarded Robert England alien and an alien ass kicking Michael Ironside. As well as Jennifer Cooke, who would later go on to be in Friday the 13th part 6, (not sure if that was a step up or a step down.)
So, I have seen a little promo trailer for the new series and it is pretty much the same thing as the old series, albiet I'm sure with a more dynamic aproach (hopefully a little less Guiding Light feel,) and snazzy made for tv special effects.
But, it's still the same old reptile aliens kill us with kindess instead of just outright killing us story from the 1st series. Because that's what world dominating advance technology aliens do. They show up, try to give a false sense of well being, while trying to dominate the planet, and in the meantime eat our rodents and inpregnate our women. No, they can't just swoop in for a frontal attack and annihilate us with their flying saucers, their (pew,pew) laser guns, their meta human strengths(well the new promo shows something like meta human stuff going down) and just wipe us out with one big battle.
Here's hoping all the wingnut extreme conspiracy theorists finally get a whack at spreading "the word" over the interwebs, about reptile peoples living next door, eating all of our earth mice.

Did anyone know, before the day of Halloween, that Esplatter would be ten years old on Halloween of 2009?
Has anyone even been on Esplatter since 1999? How do they get people to join a site, if they don't know it is there? Such as, this site was invented in 1999. If no one knew it was here, how do they get people to join. I mean, how did you all find out about it?

Well, finally got all my stuff up in the garage and think it came out really good. The right side of the garage is like an asylum (even used fence panels to create a floor). The left side is the graveyard. I don't think I'm going to tell my daughter what I did with her old dolls and cradle.

I've been wanting to buy Trick 'r Treat, but the price in denmark is like 2 times the normal price from England so Im waiting for it to drop in price

Five Minute film preview Acrylic

I've just watched some rough footage of a Vampire film Acrylic there's guns and a sexy looking women. The effects explosion and gun shots were excellent, it was a little slow but hopefully this will be corrected in the final film.

Check it out does anyone else have info on this I've been following it for a while now but there's nothing on IMDB.

Rented this tonight and uhhh...well...

Two rebellious teen are screwing around in an old, abandoned mental hospital when they discover a "dead" girl strapped to a table in the basement. So, being red-blooded all-American boys, what do they decide to do? Why, fuck it of course. Oh those wacky teenagers...

That's really, for the most part, the whole movie. A zombie chick tied to a table gets raped and beaten by horny teenage boys. This despite the fact that her skin is obviously rotting and her vagina looks like two-year-old refried beans. Means nothing to those raging, insatiable teenage hormones, I guess. One of them does seem to have a moral quandry with this, but....gyah!

It's just one of the most surrealistically retarded scripts I've ever witnessed unfold. If you think you've seen people do idiotic things in horror movies before...jesus christ. That and the dialogue becomes murder on the ears. The side character is named "TJ". I know this, because the main character punctuates every single line of dialogue by repeating his name..."Where are you, TJ"..."What is that, TJ"..."Don't do that, TJ"..."Stop, TJ"..."OMG TJ!!!"...etc. If one were to play a drinking game with every time "TJ" is said, one would experience death from alcohol poisoning less then 20 minutes in.

I am finding the film imposible to rate. It did manage to disturb me (a lot) as I like my horror films to do, but...it's just so goddamn unbelievably retarded. I'd hoped someone else here had seen it to offer me some perspective and/or comfort...because I think I just rented some bona-fide necro porn...

...was actually decent, as Barker film adaptions go. Previously, we had two categories: The Awesomely Untouchable (Hellraiser, Candyman) and the Painfully Lame (Nightbreed, Lord of Illusions, Midnight Meat Train). This one creates a new category of the Pretty Good.

It's got some decent performances, competent direction, and some surprisingly good SFX's for a low budget (not over-CGI'd like Meat Train was) Although despite the fact that they combined two of Clive's short stories to make this, it still does feel a bit stretched at times. It's still worth sitting through though, and the story has those trademark touches of dark Barker eroticism.

Random factoid--was filmed on location in Edinburgh. This might be of interest if we allowed any of those creepy Scots to post on this board. Fortunately, we don't have any of those splitters 'round here...
