This film is getting a lot of attention on the web these days. The trailer during the opening of Transformers had everyone wondering what it's about. If you take the time to dive deeper into it, there are a ton of mysteries and cool crap to cipher through. If you check out the website: http://www.ethanhaas.org/ there are a ton of websites related to (possibly fakes) the film. One of them I found interesting was a puzzle site, http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/ You could actually spend hours trying to figure this stuff out, but is it worth it? I guess that’s up to you to decide. Mad __________________ "Where your going, you don't need eyes to see" |

The 5 puzzle answers/rewards (short video clips) are all available on Youtube. From what I understand, the Ethan Haas thing is hype for some video game and is unrelated to Lady Liberty's head bouncing down the street aka 1/18/08 aka Cloverfield or whatever it is. __________________ institution. making you think you're crazy is a billion dollar industry. |

I myself felt into that all that crazyness surrounding the film and it's trailer for like a complete night searching for clues and surfing any existing website relating to it.
I'm definitely looking foward that film.

So, I saw Cloverfield last night and it's pretty darn good.
It's a direct rip-off of elelments of several movies at once (Blair Witch/The Last Broadcast, Godzilla, King Kong, etc), but it's entertaining over 90 minutes and does what it sets out to do. The acting is not great, the dialogue is often bad, but the monster scenes are pretty bad ass.
My biggest gripe with it was that the whole thing is shot from the first-person standpoint with a handheld...so there is a shaky screen for the entire movie. It gets annoying after a while. Also, there's one guy who delivers non-stop "witty" jokes. That got old real fast.
Something of note, it was 84 minutes!!! I'm a big fan, for the most part, of movies that are 90 minutes or less, especially within the horror genre. Oh, how I long for the 80s when every horror movie was 84 minutes. It doesn't take itself overly seriously and portray itself as an epic (as with the steaming pile of shit Godzilla 1998 remake).
So, overall the monster is effective, and the monster/destruction scenes are pretty intense and even terrifying at times. If you're in the mood to see a movie about a giant monster destroying Manhattan, then go see it. Just don't expect a great plot, great acting, or really likeable characters (they're all pretty much straight out of a GAP ad). __________________ "...Absolutely trying to kill me, ya know?" |

I almost bought 3 or 4 hermit crabs a couple years ago but I didn't. __________________ "You play a good game boy, but the game is finished, now you die" |
